Life is what you make of it! But you need a game plan. It is hard to make progress in every area of your life at the same time. Too often we are two steps forward and one step back folks. But guess what? That’s progress!
I don’t have all the answers. As a matter of fact, my wife thinks I don’t have any of them most of the time. That is another story. Let me tell you what I believe. Each of us must take the time to look within and find out who we are, what we want and how we can get to our desired future.
As we look within, we need to break our lives down into areas for review and goal setting. All of us have health and fitness at the core of our concerns. If we don’t take care of our bodies, we won’t be able to take care of anything. Life styles need to be reviewed and improvements made one bite at a time.
It’s not just your body. In order to improve yourself, you need to develop your mind and enlarge your spirit. Yes, you need to look at what is going on in your mind. It can be scary. There are ways to improve your spirit. It begins with self examination and taking small actions.
Whether you are working outside the home or not, work consumes much of your time. How can we be more productive and improve the working environment? It begins with a hard look at your obligations and expectations.
Do you have to look at your finances? Yes! What about family and other relationships? Yes, again. In order to increase your overall well being, you have to dig deep within yourself. Once you know yourself you are in a position to put in place your overall self improvement plan.
Your plan needs to to include all the areas that have been reviewed here. But you need to take it one bite at a time.
Be sure to keep this in mind: life is a marathon not a sprint. Be gentle with yourself!
No matter how well you plan. No matter how excellent your execution. There will come a time when you fall short of the mark you have set. Forgive yourself. Refresh your plan and move forward. You can succeed. You will succeed. One bite at a time.
